Hailing from nothing nowhere, I Am... 

...and in this form, hailing from Astoria, NY, I am a dad to a star, lover of family, friends, community, the sun that I descend from, and our cosmic ecosystem; a cancer-Sagittarius, on the path of yogi (in the raja-yoga ashtanga path) for the past 20+ years; a vegan and zero-waste aspirant (lover of earth and its species), modern-day ancient medicine man in the poetic tradition of village medicine persons like my grandfather and great-grandfathers from undivided India ("kabi-raj" the word for medicine man in Bengal, literally translates to "poet King"). 

How it happened is that I wrote myself into existence after a B.A in Creative Writing, from a character in my first novel - a 300 year old yogi-healer who descends from the Himalaya to stop the corporatization of yoga. 

Shortly after declaring my path (of being a yogi medicine man) to those in my life, I delved deeper into the healing arts by working as a creative writing teacher and healer in the classroom,  as well as with organizations, and individuals . For the past 20 years I've  worked with thousands of amazing spirits individually and in groups facilitating a journey in a transformative healing process. 

Mostly, I live my path, foraging, making medicine, engulfed in the dissipation of a deep daily yoga practice, writing odysseys that reimagine the be and not to be in coffeeshops throughout the country, whipping up vegan meals with whatever lays around, fasting every full moon and often weekly, reading texts that bring me Closer to disintegration.
