Learning should be an immersive experience that is creative, nourishing, and spirited - taking participants on a deep internal journey. This is the way in which I've learned most effectively and what I've found most meaningful, both in myself as a student and for the hundreds/thousands of students I've had as a teacher.
My pedagogy is informed from more than my studies in education (M.S. Ed), and for that matter from more than being a teacher for years. As a teacher, I am drawn to and incorporate the indigenous form of conveying knowledge in my family's tradition - the gurukal system ( a deep individualized facilitation of knowledge). One of my greatest forays in the art of teaching comes from being a perpetual student: degree programs, license programs, certification programs, non degree programs, spending time with my elders, and gurus - those who Know (have gone really really deep in their craft and in humility).
